Metalhead survey

Many of us are metal heads, but many of us all have our own definition of metal and are pretty particular about what bands we listen to. This survey will go in depth on that! If you are a metal head, repost this survey with your own answers!

Section 1. A little about you...

1. What is the first metal band/artist that you got into? Metallica

2. What is your favorite thing about being a metal head?
Liking music most other people don't like.

3. What is your most hated thing about being a metal head? Nothing to hate. :)

4. What do you have to say to people who are offended by the music? I refer them to the First Amendment of the Constitution.

5. Does it piss you off when your favorite metal band becomes popular? Not really, unless their sound drastically devolves when they do so.

6. Is the stereotype for metalheads being stupid pothead bums true? Some metalheads I've met are stupid pothead bums, but not nearly every metalhead fits that description. I, for example, am a University student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I'm pursuing a B.S. in Math and Computer Science and eventually a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, and am currently holding a 3.74 GPA.

7. Have you ever been to a metal festival? I've been to Ozzfest this summer.

8. What do you think is the best metal band nobody has heard of? Nocte Obducta. I hate most black metal, but they are fucking amazing.

8. Do you listen to your local scene any? No, as most of my local scene consists of shitty indie bands.

9. Are there too many subgenres? Yes, it's too hard to keep track of.

10. Do you listen to other music besides metal? Yes. I like progressive rock, hard rock, blues, a bit of alternative rock and classical.
